Registering and Purchasing the AP Exam

    AP Exam Ordering Process:

While students will still be taking their AP Exams in May, they will need to purchase AP Exams between October 3 - November 3 as indicated in the schedule above.  Please note that the deadlines for ordering AP Exams are set by the College Board and are not unique to Redwood High School.

Please recognize that students and families are being asked to interact with two systems,  College Board and Total Registration.  Students (and families) will be accessing the College Board to enroll in their AP Class Sections and access instructional resources. In addition, students (and families) will be accessing Total Registration to purchase their AP Exams.

    Purchasing AP Exams

Registration and purchases are processed through the Total Registration online service

This process will take a few minutes and can be completed on any computer with Internet access.  If access to the internet is a challenge, please contact us.

To complete the registration process, students must follow the prompts to create an account and answer all of the required questions.  Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page that is provided at the end.  We strongly recommend that parents/guardians and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct AP Exams are purchased.

Redwood High School is excited to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration.  Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card before beginning the registration process.

If you are not paying online, you will need to mail your payment to TR. Please follow the directions on the payment stub that is printed at the time of registration to be mailed along with the check, cashier’s check or money order. TR will receive and record these payments and then email the family a confirmation showing the recorded payment. All mailed payments must be postmarked by October 31, 2023.  Families will mail their payment (payable to Total Registration, LLC) with their payment stub to:

    Total Registration, LLC

    PO Box 398

    Eldorado Springs, CO 80025

It is important that all checks include the reference number in the memo of the check. If a Payment Stub has not been printed, please enclose a copy of your confirmation.

The deadline for purchasing exams is November 3 at 4:00 PM SHARP - no exceptions or extension will be granted.

    Refunds

All requests for refunds should be sent to Lisa Kemp (lkemp@tamdistrict.org). The last day to request a refund for any reason is Friday, November 10 by 4:00 PM SHARP. No excetions or extensions will be granted.

    Financial Assistance

Redwood HS students who have a financial need are eligible for financial assistance.  Students will be able to request financial assistance when they register online through Total Registration. Anyone with questions can contact Lisa Kemp (lkemp@tamdistrict.org).

    Testing Conflicts

If there are conflicts with the AP Exam schedule, please email Lisa Kemp (lkemp@tamdistrict.org), before the end of the registration period. There are VERY LIMITED circumstances under which the College Board or Redwood HS will approve a student for an alternative late testing date.  Students cannot take two exams at the same time and Redwood HS will decide which exam a student will take first and which exam will be taken during the late testing window. This year's late testing window, as set by the College Board, is May 22 - May 24, 2024.

Students must have written approval from Lisa Kemp in order to take any late exams.

If approved, an additional $50 late testing fee may apply.

    Testing With Accommodations

Students who currently have an IEP or a 504 Plan with testing accommodations should email Lisa Kemp (lkemp@tamdistrict.org) to confirm they have been approved for testing accommodations during AP Exams. Accommodations that are offered in your daily classes may not carry over to the AP exams, so be sure to check with Lisa Kemp if you have any questions (lkemp@tamdistrict.org).

Only students who have been approved by the College Board are eligible to receive testing accommodation for their AP Exam. The last day to submit accommodation requests to the College Board is January 18, 2024. Families are strongly encouraged to start the process now, as it can be lengthy to gather the necessary paperwork and if a decision needs to be appealed, that can take time as well. Please see this page for the directions on the process to apply for College Board accommodations. Redwood’s Testing Center # is 051361.

For those students who have already been approved by the College Board for testing accommodations, you do not need to re-apply.  During the registration process, families will be able to provide the College Board provided SSD # for accommodations.

    Instructional Resources:

By having a College Board account and enrolling in their AP Class Section, students will have access to instructional resources that will support their classroom instruction.  Students will be able to access these resources through myap.collegeboard.org.

Students who have taken an AP Course before (also if they've taken the PSAT and/or the SAT), should already have a username and password to access their College Board account.  If a parent has created an account at College Board to sign up for SAT or ACT, the student should have a separate account with an email address that is NOT their student account provided through the district.

For those new to the AP program, the student will need to create an account.

Things to keep in mind about a student's College Board account:

    • Students who have created a College Board account for the PSAT/SAT should use the same username and password for the AP account.  They should not have two different College Board accounts.

    • Students who need to create an account or verify that they have an account, please access collegeboard.org

    • Students must have their own email address associated with their College Board Account.  By doing so, if they forget their login information, they can recover it easily.

    • Students should keep their username and password in a place they can access easily and quickly, perhaps on their phones.  They'll be needing this information numerous times throughout the year.

    • If you cannot access your account, please contact College Board 866-315-6068.

Policies and Procedures for AP Exams:

For additional information on AP Exam policies and procedures, we encourage students and parents/guardians to explore College Board's website: AP Exam Policies

Working with our AP teachers and families, we are committed to making sure that participation in the AP Program is a positive experience for everyone.

    Thank you!

If you have any questions, please email Lisa Kemp (lkemp@tamdistrict.org).
